The Master of Arts in Performing Arts Studies is the first ever performing arts studies programme in the postgraduate level offered by the Academy. This programme aims to nurture thinkers and reflective practitioners in performing arts. It equips students with theoretical knowledge and research skills, enabling them to reflect on performing arts and comprehend contemporary Hong Kong arts practice. The curriculum offers an interdisciplinary learning experience. Students can choose elective courses from the six Academy Schools, namely the School of Chinese Opera, School of Dance, School of Drama, School of Film and Television, School of Music and School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts. We welcome applicants from performing arts and other disciplines. The learning process is reflective and interdisciplinary, with an emphasis on critical thinking, presentation and writing skills. Graduates are expected to become cultural advocates and leaders. They may pursue careers in managerial, curatorial, and educational roles within the creative, cultural, and performing arts industries. This programme is provided by the General Education and Research Unit in the Academy.
