Committed to providing quality education to cultivate knowledge, professionalism and new talents for the evolving creative industries, Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) adopts a “Think and Do” approach through contemporary curriculum and active collaborations with industry. HKDI offers a wide range of design programmes through four academic departments, namely Architecture, Interior and Product Design; Communication Design and Digital Media; Design Foundation Studies; and Fashion and Image Design.
HKDI actively organises exchange programmes, world-class exhibitions and joint projects to nurture design talents with critical thinking, cultural sensitivity, social responsibility and an international perspective. It has established collaborative agreements with over 40 schools internationally, which include Zurich University of The Arts, ECAL and HEAD-Genève in Switzerland; Design School Kolding and Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Denmark; University of Borås and Malmö University in Sweden; the University of Westminster in the UK; Bunka Fashion College in Japan and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in mainland China, to name a few.
