JIS College of Engineering

Since its modest beginning of laying of the foundation on that rainy day of September 1st, 2000 by Sardar Jodh Singh, Chairman, JIS Group, the JIS College of Engineering has gone from strength to strength until now. Having seven undergraduate taught programmes with the three being in core engineering such as Civil, Mechanical & Electrical followed by Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Computer Science Engineering, Computer Science Engineering & Information Technology. We have six postgraduate taught programmes. The JIS College of Engineering has blossomed into six Value Added Centres such as British Council Centre for Communication Skills, NPTEL Centre for Value Addition, Tata Technologies Centre, CII Centre for Innovations and a Centre of Excellence, created by joint partnership with Universities of the Russian Federation. With the introduction of Flip Learning for the first time in India, we have seven smart classrooms and still counting. We are in the process of erecting its ancillary facilities like Video Recording Studios by the end of the year. Academic Reforms Pioneering academic reforms such as Flip Learning were initiated in this country last year with the kind approval of BoG and in particular we gratefully acknowledge encouragement & support from Mr Taranjit Singh, Managing Director & Tejomay Das, Industry Member. Between last BoG meeting in December and now, we have implemented Flip Learning in the First year of B Tech programme after conducting several workshops for the faculty. We now have seven dedicated Flip classrooms with cluster sittings over which the Flip Learning is taking place among much surprise & interest of the Fresher’s. Learning & Understanding is done at home, while its application, critical evaluation of concept and creating new ideas are done in vibrant classroom. The teacher’s role is elevated to that of moderator of a brainstorming session. Each of these rooms have wired and wi-fi connectivity, Audio Visual presentation through LCD projector 7 a complimenting Sound System. Our in-house publication on Flip Learning was launched by Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE and he, along with Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna, Director, AICTE sat through a classroom session on Flip Learning. Times Engineering Institute Ranking Survey 2018 declared JIS College of Engineering @ 12th among Top 50 Private Engineering Institute Rankings. Internship of JISCE Students to MIPT, Moscow As a fallout of MoU signed between the institutions of Russian federation & JIS Group, a group of eight students, two each selected from ECE, CSE, IT & Mechanical interned for 3 weeks at Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology underwent training on Cyber Security & Mechatronics between July 24th to August 18th. Internship of JISCE Students to AIT, Bangkok Twenty one students of JISCE – apart of 49 students of JIS Group - participated in AIT Edu Camp at AIT, Bangkok from February 2nd to February 15th and got sensitized with a variety of topics ranging from GIS through internet, augmented reality to even recent advances in packaging technology.
