The Graduate School of Human Culture pursues the development of advanced professionals by organically linking the three research areas of culture, society, and psychology. In cultural studies, researchers explore the various aspects and characteristics of cultural heritage and cultural traditions, especially in Japan and Asia, and the functions of culture as it operates in people's lives, from the perspectives of geography, thought, language, and literature. In Social Information Studies, researchers explore trends in contemporary society and culture, which are changing dramatically with the development of information technology, and explore new social issues that arise from these changes both theoretically and practically. This Graduate School offers two courses in psychological research: the Psychology Course, which fosters individuals who can identify and solve practical problems in families, schools, and communities, and the Clinical Psychology Course, which fosters professionals with the knowledge and skills to become aid workers in mental health.
