In studying Creative and Performing Arts, you are taught to not to perceive the arts as being separate subjects but as an integrated whole. To that end the course is designed for students who have ability across the performing arts field and offers exciting opportunities for practical and theoretical exploration of the interplay between subjects. In your first year, you will study three core disciplines (Dance & Movement, Drama & Performance, Music & Sound) in isolation, gaining an understanding and awareness of their key ideas and practices. In the remaining two years you will choose to specialise in two of these disciplines, creating original work that combines them. In addition to the lectures and practical seminars, you will have extracurricular trips to performances (plays, concerts, performances) and arts venues (installations and galleries) to inform your knowledge and understanding of the creative and performing arts in a professional context.
