The Information Technology and Systems major at Marist bridges the gap between computing technology and the business world. By developing skills in both areas, you will be well-prepared for the development and implementation of information systems and technologies in a variety of organizational settings.

While providing a common foundation in computing and business, the Information Technology Systems major branches out into two concentrations geared toward specific career goals.

  • Information Technology Concentration: this concentration prepares students in networking technologies, web technologies, and multimedia. Learn hardware and software, web development technology and e-commerce, and the design of graphical interfaces.
  • Information Systems Concentration: develop a balance of technical and business skills that are pertinent to the development, implementation, and maintenance of information systems. Focus on topics like business intelligence, data measures, data warehouses, and information quality.

Each concentration is also available as a minor for students outside the Information Technology and Systems major. We encourage you to utilize our unique “academic triangle” by combining your major with a variety of other majors and minors to customize your academic path toward your specific career goals.
