· The Doctor of Philosophy in Media and Cultural Studies is the first one-of-a-kind program in Egypt and the Middle East. The Ph.D. program in Media and Cultural Studies focuses on a critical analysis of media, culture, and technology and how they influence one another.

To obtain a Doctor of Philosophy in Media and Cultural Studies, students must successfully complete 57 credit hours in a minimum of 7 semesters. Courses are distributed as follows:
- Research Methodology Courses
- Advanced media studies courses
- Specialization courses
- Comprehensive Exam
- PhD Complementary Dissertation
· There is a consensus that media content , regardless of the means of its transmission, is a cultural product . Therefore, this content has an influence on the culture of both the recipient and the society . The term "media consumption culture" is common in the literature of media and cultural studies, referring to the close relationship between media and culture. Scholars believe that media represents one of the most important factors contributing to the shaping of the general culture of contemporary society. Scientific research has also witnessed intense interest in the relationship between media and culture and the influence of new technology on their existing relationship. It is noticeable that the increasing attention paid to examining the relationship between media and culture has coincided with the digital communication revolution , which has brought about enormous changes in the public’s relationship with the media, along with changes in the autocratic nature that characterized the media industry throughout the preceding years. Distinguishing between the medium, the sender, and the receiver is no longer possible in many current media activities.
· The Media and Cultural Studies PhD program is interested in studying the mutual influences between media, culture, and technological innovations. The program is also concerned with studying the effect of new communication technology on accelerating the pace of cultural and economic globalization and the role the media plays in this context.
