This research-oriented MA is designed for students who wish to pursue cutting-edge research in specific areas of Art, Design and Media. The MA has been structured to keep the number of required courses to a minimum (three) so that students’ time and energy can be utilised fully in the research topic of their choice. Students will work under the close supervision of ADM faculty for the duration of their studies.
As Singapore is where the East meets the West, our program is an interwoven site where diverse disciplines engage with each other to interrogate the meaning of the creative community being transformed, particularly in the context of digitized culture and globalisation. Our MA and Ph.D programs situate our research in historical, aesthetic, industrial, global, and sociocultural contexts so that students can build a solid theoretical foundation leading to further scholarly explorations of specific research topics both as significant art and as social communication. Our diverse faculty members support each student’s journey within the individualised study in exploring and developing their own theoretical framework through writing, research, practical works, and interdisciplinary participation with other programmes at NTU.
