From birth to second grade, early life experiences have a lasting impact on later success. Our bachelor’s of science in early childhood education was created to support the development of all young children, including those who are culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse, with a focus on using developmentally effective approaches to build a meaningful curriculum for our youngest learners. The Early Childhood Education program leads to a bachelor’s degree and the New York State Initial Teaching Certificate in early childhood education. Each of our Early Childhood Education programs is nationally recognized and leads to a bachelor's degree (BS) and the Initial Teaching Certificate in early childhood education (birth–grade 2). Early Childhood Education/Childhood Education majors also complete a 30-credit concentration biology, English, history, or mathematics on either campus, or Spanish on our New York City Campus.
