The study of the Master’s program in the Department of Veterinary Medicine began in the year 2006 where two Master's programs were approved by the Deanship of Graduate Studies at the University to qualify graduates of the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine to obtain a Master's degree, namely Master of Science in Laboratory Diagnosis and Master of Science in Clinical Sciences. Then, a process of developing these two programs took place in 2015 AD (1436 AH), so that they became four Master's programs, namely: Master of Science in Basic Sciences, Master of Science in Laboratory Diagnosis, Master of Science in Preventive Medicine and Master of Science in Clinical Sciences. In 2022 AD (1444 AH), another development process was carried out for these four programs, as these four programs were merged into one program, which is the Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine program, which has four tracks: Basic Veterinary Sciences track, Laboratory Diagnostics track, Preventive Medicine track, and Clinical Veterinary Sciences track; This is the current program. Study in each track of the current program is conducted in two ways: the thesis method and the graduation research method. The thesis method has a weight of 34 credit hours, including 26 credit hours of courses and 8 credit hours for the thesis. While the graduation research method has a weight of 42 credit hours, including 38 credit hours of courses and 4 credit hours for the graduation research.
