This Midwifery course gives you the skills necessary to become a motivated, professional Midwife and leads to a dual award. As a Midwife your role goes much further than supporting women during the birth of their babies. We will prepare you for antenatal and postnatal care, counselling, in offering support and education, and in helping mothers and their partners to prepare for parenthood. The course covers all aspects of midwifery including supporting mothers in a wide variety of ways after the birth; promoting breastfeeding, establishing feeding routines, bonding with babies, checking their bodies are returning to pre-pregnancy state, and discussing contraceptive choices.
