About Selangor Islamic University
Selangor Islamic University (UIS) is an Islamic Higher Education Institution wholly owned by the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) established under the IPTS Act 1996. Its official establishment on 15 February 1995 showed the commitment Selangor state government in developing the education agenda and academic excellence. As a preserved and nurtured educational legacy of HRH the Sultan of Selangor, UIS is a catalyst of the knowledge tradition and unification of Muslims in Selangor. UIS endeavours to produce Dai, Ulama and Umara. Based on the motto "Leaders in the Knowledge Tradition", as well as its delightful campus inspired by the historic Islamic architecture of the glorious Andalusia heritage, UIS moves in line with its vision and mission to assertively and proactively face all challenges and changes to be an educational institution that provides academic study programmes based on monotheism and in accordance with the present-day physical needs in line with the Muslim "niche" that meets the path of Islamic education and the National Education Policy for quality as a first-class Islamic University. This endeavour is supported by a group of lecturers and employees possessing the qualities of mudarris, mu`allim, muaddib, murabbi and murshid. UIS offers programmes at Foundation, Diploma, Bachelor, Master, and Doctor of Philosophy levels that meet the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) certification across various competitive disciplines including Islamic studies, business studies, Islamic banking, education, as well as communication and information technology. UIS maintains its initial establishment objective to produce more Muslim professionals who are capable of leading society, as well as developing and expanding Islamic knowledge. In addition, UIS also plays a role in providing alternatives to pursuing to higher education. UIS has expanded its network through MoUs and MoAs in academic development, research and innovation as a continually relevant Islamic higher education institution at national and international levels.

Cost of Living
UIS provides on-campus hostel facilities that can accommodate up to 9,000 students. Students are required to pay a subsidised accommodation fee. To support students from lower-income backgrounds, the university offers financial assistance through zakat funds and other charitable contributions. Several cafés operate within the campus, offering food at reasonable prices. In addition, some faculties organise “Free Food Day” initiatives to further support students. Regarding tuition fees, students may apply for financial assistance from PTPTN, MARA, state governments, and various foundations. Students who face difficulties in paying tuition fees may also apply for support from the university’s charitable funds. In terms of transportation, students benefit from free public transport services such as the Smart Selangor bus and Rapid On-Demand. These services provide access to nearby commuter stations located approximately 5 km from the university and also serve routes to Bangi and Kajang.
