Although there are campus placements for the students in the 10th semester, most of the students get absorbed in the architectural firms when they undertake the mandatory internship in the 9th semester.
Courses in a B. Arch program typically include architectural design studios, building construction and materials, architectural history and theory, structural systems, environmental systems, urban design, digital design, and professional practice. Arch degree is a very holistic Program with diverse subjects ranging from science & technology to arts & humanities.
After completing this 5-year Program students have a wide range of career choices such as becoming an architect, urban planner, interior designer, landscape architect, or construction manager, or pursuing roles in real estate development, sustainable design consulting, historic preservation, academia, and entrepreneurship.
While sketching/painting skills can be beneficial, they are not always necessary for joining a B. Arch program, as it focuses on various aspects of design and construction.
After completing a B. Arch program, opportunities for higher studies include pursuing a Master of Architecture (M. Arch), specialized postgraduate degrees in urban planning or historic preservation, or a Ph.D. in Architecture
