Envisioned by H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (Founder of the Art of Living), SSU, runs on the motto of Learn, Lead and Serve, was established as a centre for world-class education. SSU strives towards bringing in the best of values & teachings of the east and west together. Besides offering a unique environment to its  students from 28 states of India and 9 countries it also offers programs in Yoga, Osteopathy, Agriculture, Management, Architecture, Odissi Dance, Hindustani Music, Psychology & Contemplative studies and Science Programs. SSU came into operation in the year 2012 and is emerging as a centre for premium education in India, aimed at blending the "Best of East & West". The university is uniquely placed in offering education that combines Western innovation with the ancient values and wisdom from the East. It is rapidly evolving into a multi-disciplinary education hub, with its function strongly rooted in spiritual, cultural and academic excellence. The mission of the varsity is to create centres of excellence in knowledge and research across the fields of study in order to equip students to achieve the highest levels of professional ability in a smoke-free, alcohol-free, vegetarian campus. It fosters human values to serve the needs of local, national and global economies.
