Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree - A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 3.00
  • APEL.A - An APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-7) (Recognition of Prior Learning) (Click on this link for further information on APEL.A)
  • Other Qualifications - Any other qualifications will be considered on a case-to-case basis* and subject to the approval and acceptance by University Senate. For case-to-case basis an interview may be required

  • TOEFL 550 (paper-based), 200 (computer-based) or 75 (Internet-based)
  • PTE Academic 50 overall
  • MUET Band 4
  • Cambridge English: First/CEFR 170 (Grade B)/B2

Application Procedure

Initial enquiries should be made to the Programme Coordinator (email:[email protected]). If the potential student is eligible for the programme, they will then meet with the Programme Leader to discuss their area of research interest and potential research supervisors.

Details on the specific documents required to complete the Sunway Postgraduate Application Form will be provided once the student has been assigned a research supervisor and agreement has been reached on the research topic.

Research Proposal - The research proposal should comprise between 1,000 and 1,500 words (excluding references), and covers the following structure:

  1. An appropriate title for the research project (designated supervisor if known)
  2. Introduction and justification of the study, which includes: Research background, Problem statement, Research objective(s), Research question(s)/hypothesis
  3. Literature review
  4. Research methodology
  5. Proposed research schedule
  6. List of references
