About Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering
The university was established on May 6, 1991 by the decree of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I. A. Karimov on the basis of the Faculty of Architecture, the Faculty of Industrial Construction and the Faculty of Construction of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute named after Beruniy.
The university is the leading educational institution in the field of architecture and construction education in the republic and is responsible for fulfilling the tasks set for higher education under the national personnel training program. The university has faculties of "Architecture", "Construction of Buildings and Structures", "Engineering and Construction Infrastructure", "Construction Management", as well as an academic lyceum, a department of construction and international relations, and a center for advanced training and retraining of managerial personnel.
Tashkent University of Architecture and Civil Engineering has 350 professors and teachers, including 28 doctors of sciences and professors, 121 candidates of sciences and associate professors. 38.5% of the university's professors and teachers have scientific degrees and titles. More than two thousand students study at the university in 13 undergraduate programs and 20 master's programs. During the study process, students have the opportunity to receive in-depth theoretical knowledge and scientific and practical advice. Specialized councils have been established at the university to defend doctoral dissertations in architecture and construction. Scientific and pedagogical personnel are trained in 7 areas through the Department of Science and Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel Training. The university's research work is included in the State Scientific and Theoretical Program for the Development of the Main Areas of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
University specialists accept orders for the design of construction, public and residential buildings, determination of the earthquake resistance of buildings and structures, and the production of high-quality building materials based on technogenic waste. The university's publishing and editorial department has published textbooks, teaching aids, monographs and collections of scientific works.
The Center for Advanced Training and Retraining of Leading Personnel in the Construction Sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been established using scientific and technical achievements to study general technology and special disciplines, and to apply the latest pedagogical technologies.
The Academic Lyceum at the Tashkent University of Architecture and Construction has been operating since 1996. It enrolls 542 students. The Lyceum is taught by 3 professors, 12 candidates of sciences and associate professors.
TUACE has concluded agreements with more than 20 leading institutes and universities in the CIS, Asia and Europe.
The university has an information and resource center for professors, teachers and students with an area of 1075.2 m2, modern computers connected to the Internet, and a collection of 247,958 e-books. The university has the "Pakhtakor" sports complex for sports, a dormitory for students from the regions, a canteen in the main building of the university, and cafeterias in the faculties.
