Overview

Founded in 1962, the Universidad del Pacífico is a private, non-profit university located in the Jesús María district of Lima, Perú.

Ranked as the most prestigious higher education institution in its fields of specialization in Peru, it’s also one of the leading institutions of its kind in Latin American and is the first Peruvian university to be AACSB accredited in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. It’s also AMBA accredited.

Universidad del Pacífico offers a number of internationally recognized undergraduate, master’s and PhD degrees, most of which are taught in Spanish. There are, however, over 50 English-taught courses available too. Its specializations include accounting, business, administration, marketing, international business, business engineering, information engineering, economics, finance and law.

Universidad del Pacífico offers excellent services and facilities to its 6,000 strong student community, including:

Virtual campus

Students have access to a number of digital learning facilities, including Blackboard, Power Campus, and online library.

The Language Center

For those who wish to develop and improve their Spanish language skills, the university’s Language Center offers intermediate and advanced level Spanish courses at an additional cost. These courses are available three weeks prior to the beginning of the semester. Interest should be highlighted in your initial application.

Arts and culture

The university’s performing arts community, dance groups and music group are great for those who have a passion for the arts.

Cultural Center

This is the university’s official theatre where students can see movies and watch live theatre shows.

Sport and recreation

Men’s basketball, women’s volleyball, swimming, table tennis and climbing are just some of the many sports teams you can be a part of at Universidad del Pacífico.

University Social Service

For those who like to get involved with the local community, the University Social Service is a great place to do just that. 

International experiences

Universidad del Pacífico has a series of agreements with other top international universities around the world, allowing students to travel to different countries to study, work as interns or visit highly prestigious companies. At the same time, every semester the university also plays host to hundreds of international students who wish to experience Peru first-hand.

 Religious counselling


The admissions process varies between programs and study levels.

International students will need to submit their Carné de Extranjería or valid passport as well as several other documents, including:

  • High school diploma transcript
  • High-quality colour ID photo (this should be taken within one month of you submitting your application to the university)

The admissions office at the university will then review each application. Should your application be successful, you’ll be notified as having been ‘selected’. You will then be given the necessary information by the university in order to progress with the rest of your application.

Language proficiency

To be eligible to study an undergraduate degree at the Universidad del Pacífico, you must have a certified high school diploma and proven proficiency in either Spanish or English (depending on which program you choose to study). Language requirements are:

  •  At least level B2 (Common Framework of Reference for Languages) for programs taught in Spanish
  •  90 in the TOEFL/6.5 IELTS for programs taught in English

If you wish to study either economics of finance, it is mandatory to have a proficiency level C1 in Spanish or English.

Please also note that any document proving your language proficiency must have been undertaken within two years of you submitting your initial application form.
