Medicine and Technology - candidate

Medicine and Technology focuses on the design of future diagnosis and treatment methods in the hospital as well as in the field.

The interaction between the human organism, technical equipment and methods is at the center of Medicine and Technology.

Today, we are increasingly dependent on advanced equipment for patient diagnosis and treatment, e.g. large scanners for computed tomography, PET scanners for studying molecular processes in cancer, and pacemakers and DNA chips for studying the genome.

The study is interdisciplinary and offered by DTU in collaboration with the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Copenhagen.

The focus of the education

The field of study aims to train graduates who understand the clinical problems facing the modern healthcare sector and enable them to develop the technological solutions of the future. Therefore, the study includes both engineering courses and courses in human physiology and ranges from the functions of the organs at the cellular level to the modeling of physiological processes in the function of the musculoskeletal system.
