The doctoral program in law is aimed at training its students in the development of research skills that respond to local and regional needs for knowledge production and reflection in the legal and socio-legal field, with an interdisciplinary and comparatist approach., resulting in an original and significant contribution to the solution of the problems addressed. The teaching and learning process in the doctorate is supported by the experience and participation of the professors who are part of the Research Groups of the Faculty of Jurisprudence, recognized by the MinCiencias in category A1 (Public Law, Human Rights, Private Law, International Law and Criminal Law). In their research agenda, the applicant will be able to locate the research proposal they intend to develop in the program, taking into account that the following are the strategic axes of the research that they carry out: 1. Business, property and consumption. This axis addresses the most important problems that arise in the development of the businessman's activity within the framework of his management and internal relationships (between administrators, owners and employees) and external (with his clients and competitors), with special emphasis on matters consumer, competition, corporate governance and new technologies. 2. Globalization, law and international relations. It studies the challenges and problems of legitimacy, effectiveness and functioning of international justice and international institutions, as well as the relationships between law and the economic, political and international relations dynamics based on the effectiveness of human rights in the current economic model and conflicts over spaces in the world. 3. Justice, human rights and post-conflict. This axis tries to identify and respond to the challenges that Colombia has to deepen the social rule of law and ensure a more equitable and inclusive citizenship and lasting peace, through the study of transitional justice in the implementation of peace agreements. and the ways to achieve democratic inclusion through the judicial and institutional channels of the State. 4. State, public power and public policies. This axis of research seeks to understand, analyze and criticize, from a comparative perspective, the internal and external dynamics that have characterized public power and public policies in Colombia, having as a frame of reference the process of erosion of the National State, sovereignty and the traditional theory of the division of powers. At least the first two years of the doctorate require exclusive, full-time dedication. To guarantee compliance with this requirement, the University has a tuition and support scholarship program, whose allocation is determined based on the trajectory of the admitted applicant and the achievement of the expected learning results during their performance in the program.
