The Master in Bioethics is a degree whose objective is to train students in the branch of bioethics, which is becoming more important every day in the health, environmental and social field with applications in nursing, biotechnology, genetics, psychology and the environment, among others.
In recent decades, the concept of bioethics has been built thanks to advances in biotechnology, where in a social and cultural context different ethical dilemmas play a crucial role in the health, environmental and technological fields.
In the field of the environment, genetics is working to create multi-resistant crops, whether to pests, herbicides or adverse climatic conditions, and thus increase productivity. Another branch that is included within environmental bioethics is anthropological, which studies the concentration of population in large cities and its consequences, as well as the pollution produced by the human species and its implications for climate change.
Within the healthcare world, the importance of responding to conflicts in the doctor-patient clinical relationship has increased over time.
This discipline is necessary to be able to address all the risks that society faces daily, and that require an immediate solution. These problems are of a social, cultural and environmental nature, directly related to ethical dilemmas that occur in routine clinical practice. Therefore, this master's degree offers the tools so that students are able to propose the best possible solutions through research.
