Founded in 1926, Università Iuav di Venezia is a public university located in the heart of Venice in Italy.

It has long been recognized as one of the best arts and design schools in Europe and across the world, and is the only university in Italy that provides thorough education and training in architecture, urban planning, design, visual arts, theatre and fashion.

Deep-rooted in tradition but truly committed to innovation, Iuav collaborates with cultural institutions and universities worldwide to impart a modern and up-to-date education in a globalized world. Iuav also teaches the knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure successful entry into the world’s job market.

Students have the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars taught by visiting scholars, world-level professionals and high-profile specialists who are part of the university’s many international exchange programs. In addition, students have the chance to study abroad thanks to the Erasmus+ program, participate in student exchanges in both Italy and abroad as well as undertake internships.

Although undergraduate and graduate courses are taught mainly in Italian, the new master degree program in architecture is fully taught in English.

Students can take advantage of the university’s innovative didactic facilities and services, as well as state-of-the-art laboratories.

Iuav University Library at Tolentini houses a wide and rare collection of volumes, databases and journals on architecture, urban planning and the arts. It also holds a considerable range of international magazines and books and is open late in the evenings.

Living in a city that’s famous for its beauty, culture and lifestyle, students can explore all that Venice has to offer between lectures, in the evenings, or at weekends.

The admission process is the same for Italian and EU citizens. The same conditions apply to any applicant who is currently residing in Italy (including refugees, and beneficiaries of international protection).

If you’re a non-EU citizen and are interested in applying to study at Universita' IUAV di Venezia, you will need to do so exclusively through the Italian Embassy (or Consulate) in your home country.

Fees are assessed on income, merit and each student’s personal situation.

Additional funding, including scholarships are available for international students. To apply and be considered for one, you will need to apply for the [email protected]” program that offers scholarships and tuition fee waivers.
