Universitas Prima Indonesia

Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) is a private university in Medan, Province of North Sumatra, established by Prof. Dr. dr. I. Nyoman Ehrich Lister, M. Kes, AIFM., AIFM, AIFO., Sp. KKLP. Founded initially as Prima Nursing and Midwifery Academy in 2001, it expanded to Universitas Prima Indonesia in 2005 in response to increasing demand. The Minister of National Education officially recognized the university under Decree No. 151/D/O/2005. In 2024, UNPRI achieved Excellent accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) with Decree No. 510/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/V/2024.

UNPRI is committed to enhancing the quality of education in Indonesia by developing faculties and study programs that cater to community needs and foster student potential. Currently, UNPRI comprises eight faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences; Nursing and Midwifery; Economics; Science and Technology; Agro Technology; Teacher Training and Education; Law; and Psychology, offering a total of 47 study programs. Since 2023, UNPRI has also extended its educational services through Off-Campus Study Programs (Program Studi di Luar Kampus Utama or PSDKU) in Pekanbaru City, Province of Riau, as authorized by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology under Decision No. 545/E/O/2023.

It is located in downtown Medan, the capital of North Sumatra. UNPRI has four buildings, including a main campus with 23 floors at Sampul Street No. 4. The campus features integrated facilities meeting international standards, providing an ideal environment for students and academics. The technical implementation unit (Unit Pelaksana Teknis or UPT) library is one of the supporting units for the teaching and learning process at Universitas Prima Indonesia. It is an educational, informational, research, recreational, and publication center. All learning resources are managed and presented integrated with technology, allowing students, lecturers, and researchers to access and use them according to their learning and working styles. Its educational and research facilities support learning, teaching, and research activities with a comprehensive collection that is quickly and easily accessible to users. UNPRI also utilize Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) with a Learning Management System named SPADA.

UNPRI also boasts essential educational infrastructure, including its University Hospital (Royal Prima Hospital Medan, Royal Prima Hospital Marelan and Royal Prima Hospital Tebing Tinggi) and the Oral and Dental Hospital, the only self-owned leading teaching hospitals on Sumatra Island. Prepared facilities encompass clean, modern classrooms, student service centers, financial offices, a mosque, data science, and neuroscience laboratories, integrated research laboratories, OSCEA and OSCE B facilities, discussion rooms, reading spaces, dental laboratories, seminar rooms, student workspaces, psychodiagnostics laboratories, notary office laboratories, Biomolecular Laboratories, Clinical Pathology Laboratories, and basic laboratories. The university also houses Technical Implementation Units (UPT) such as the Language Center, Library, Computer Center, and comfortable lecture halls. In addition, UNPRI also provide shopping center in the main campus.
