Our uniquely-placed University is also a leading member of Norwich Research Park, one of Europe's biggest concentrations of researchers in the fields of environment, health and plant science.

Norwich is one of the most vibrant, historic and attractive cities in Europe, and is easily accessible by road, rail, bus, coach and air. Norwich International Airport offers direct flights to and from UK and international destinations, and London is less than 2 hours away by train.

With over 200 clubs and societies, a Students' Union with an excellent reputation for live music and events, a £30 million Sportspark, a wealth of support services, and an art gallery on campus, we think UEA offers an amazing student experience, and so do our students.

Home to over 15,000 Home/EU and International students, our Postgraduate community of around 3,500 students forms one of the central strengths of the University. We pride ourselves on the excellence of our wide range of intellectually stimulating Postgraduate Taught and Research degrees, and aim to offer a supportive environment, with leading academic specialists, and access to exceptional research resources.

In the latest Research Excellent Framework (REF) 2014, UEA came 10th in the UK for the quality of its research output and 21st overall out of all mainstream British institutions. The results show that more than 82% of UEA research is classified as either ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’, confirming UEA’s position as a premier research institution making a substantial impact on the global challenges facing society.
