York’s college system bridges the gap between learning and living. Students become a member of one of the University’s 11 colleges, each of which provide the support of a close-knit community. A wide variety of clubs and societies make it easy for new students to integrate and feel at home throughout their studies.York has a diverse global community, with over 22,000 students from more than 150 different countries. Graduates become part of a large and active network of over 130,000 alumni from all over the world.


York is a flourishing, student-friendly city, big enough to be lively, but small enough to feel like home. With its unique history, rich culture and contemporary style, it is regularly voted one of the UK’s best places to live and visit.
