Overview

Yessenov University

  Caspian State University of Technologies and Engineering named after Sh.Yessenov is multidisciplinary higher educational institution of Kazakhstan. Currently the University

1) provides educational services in 37 Bachelor’s programs, 15 magistracy specialties and 5 specialties of doctoral studies;

2) academic staff – more than 350 teachers, 16 of them are Doctors of Philosophy and 169 Candidates of Science.


There are five faculties in the university:

1) “Scientific and humanitarian training” Department;

2) “Oil and gas” Department;

3) “Pedagogy” Department;

4) “Transport and construction” Department;

5) “Economics and law” Department.


The University is member of:

1) Association of Universities of the Caspian States (AUCS);

2) Magna Charta Universitatum, Bologna (Italy);

3) EURASHE - European Association of Institutions in Higher Education;

4) Eurasian Association of Universities;

5) Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.


Yessenov University is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

The work in the field of international cooperation is conducted in two main directions:

1) expansion of cooperation with foreign scientific and educational centers;

2) organization of cooperation and strengthening of relations with the leading foreign manufacturing facilities of the region.

 At present, the university has concluded agreements with 44 higher education organizations, which 13 of them were concluded with the countries of far abroad and 31 of them with the CIS countries (Azerbaijan Technical University, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Dagestan State Technical University, Ufa State Oil Technical University, Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Astrakhan State Technical University etc.).

The University has signed the following mandates:

The Grant Agreement for a study on "Tourism and cultural heritage in the countries of the Caspian region", international coordinator is University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy);  

The Grant Agreement for a study on "Master's Program of Environmental Monitoring and Management of Water Resources of the Caspian Countries", international coordinator is University of Applied Sciences (Cologne, Germany).

The university also signed contracts:

on organization of academic mobility under the Erasmus program with Erzincan University (Turkey);

on academic mobility under the Erasmus program with the University of Gabrovo (Bulgaria) for the period 2016-2021.

The University has created a marine training center (ITC), which aims to train students, as well as training and retraining of marine personnel. In that regard the university cooperates with the company "Transas", which is the world's leading manufacturer of training systems for training, professional retraining and certification of marine specialists. There are also contracts which are signed by Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University (Novorossiysk), Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland shipping (St. Petersburg) joint training, retraining and advanced training of maritime transport specialists at the ITC. In the same direction, the University signed an agreement with the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy for a dual-degree education of marine specialists. Simulator complexes have been purchased and introduced into the educational process.
