San Giobbe Economics Campus: A window on the Venetian lagoon
You might think studying in Venice means having to walk miles across bridges every day as you navigate the city’s waterways but there’s no need to fear.
Located in the Cannaregio district, just a quick 10-minute walk from the Venezia Santa Lucia train station, the San Giobbe Economics Campus is easily accessible if you choose to live on the mainland.
It balances the historic charm of Venice with a fully modernised, high-tech setup that’s incredibly forward-thinking, featuring solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and smart climate controls in its buildings.
Across an expansive 23,000-square-meter complex, the San Giobbe campus brings together the classrooms, faculty offices, and the massive BEC (Economics and Management Library) - which holds over 250,000 volumes - all into one efficient hub.
You’ll also find the San Giobbe Residential Complex, on-site student housing which is considered one of the best and most sustainable university residences in Italy (it even won the prestigious Romano Del Nord prize).
It offers standard and scholarship-rate rooms alongside fantastic amenities, including:
- A rooftop terrace and solarium with sweeping views of the Venice lagoon
- An internal open-air cloister courtyard and a 2,000-square-meter green space for socialising
- A modern, free-to-use on-site gym overlooking the water
- 24/7 lounge areas, study rooms, and a laundry room
- A spacious cafeteria and wine bar offering flexible meals, poké, and aperitifs with outdoor seating overlooking the lagoon, on the ground floor.
On-campus dining is also available at the La Corte Cafeteria & Social Hub, which offers affordable, ESU-subsidised meal options from breakfast to dinner (and even evening aperitifs). When it’s not serving food, it transitions into a lively co-working and study lounge.
