Theology is the study of God and how humans live with God. If you major in theology at Saint Louis University, you'll examine the most basic questions of life, and learn to evaluate and appreciate the most vital aspects of religious experience and thought. The Catholic tradition is central to the program work but is studied within the context of the Christian tradition and in relationship to all of the world's religious traditions. Coursework within the program addresses social and moral issues with a focus on theology and history, faith and reason, and Christian morality and society. You'll examine both the New and Old Testaments and choose from courses in both Hebrew and Christian scripture. Students have the option to choose concentrations in the following areas: Constructive theology; Historical theology; Theological ethics; Religious education.
