Robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are emerging as leading technologies that, together, have created a new generation of industry focused on autonomous and cognitive devices. Robotics with artificial intelligence is gaining prominence across multiple sectors, with increasing demand for specialists in this field.

Our MSc in Robotics and Intelligent Systems will give you the tools to explore innovative solutions to real-world engineering problems and respond to the global need for autonomous and cognitive systems that can interact seamlessly with the world.

The programme focuses on developing a fundamental knowledge of robotics and autonomous systems and its application to practical mechatronics design. From theoretical engineering and science-based knowledge to hands-on, practical skills in robotics engineering and artificial intelligence, you’ll apply what you’ve learnt to real-world problems encountered in research and industry. Optional modules from across various engineering disciplines will allow you the freedom to build your own portfolio of skills and knowledge in line with your interests.

You’ll be encouraged to develop a creative and innovative approach to engineering challenges and to seek achievable, sustainable solutions by employing a variety of skills, critical knowledge and understanding.

As a school we are committed to undertaking research that makes a difference on a local and global scale. You’ll be taught by researchers in robotics, autonomous systems and artificial intelligence who are driving innovation and development in this sector. You will also benefit from our collaborative partnerships with industry through real-world projects, placement opportunities, and direct contact with industrial engineers via guest lectures.

As a graduate in Robotics and Intelligent Systems, you will lead the change in transforming society through a shared vision of future robotics and intelligent engineering applications.
