The purpose of the educational program is preparation of competitive specialists in the field of historical knowledge, a specialist who is able to independently organize and conduct scientific research in history and who are able to synthesize scientific and methodological concepts of world and Kazakhstan historical science. Formation of personnel potential is highly qualified specialists who are competitive in the domestic and international labor market with their needs and development prospects of the country.
ON1 Justify the causes and background of historical events. Compare historical facts, highlighting both common features and specificity; analyze the causes and effects of historical events. Analyze and critically evaluate modern scientific achievements, generate new ideas in solving research and practical problems, including in interdisciplinary areas. Design and implement comprehensive research; ON2 Analyze and evaluate the dialectical interrelation of the processes of globalization and regionalization; assess the impact of processes on world politics, international relations, economic policies; predict trends in the development of international relations and world politics; Identify the goals, nature and forms of activity of global and regional international organizations; analyze the foreign policy situation and assess the prospects for their development. ON3 Apply modern, science-based techniques, methods and means of teaching in history teaching. Сhoose methods and means of training and education in the framework of educational organization policies. Сritically evaluate the main trends of psychological and pedagogical practice and design the educational and educational process; master the lecturing and curatorial skills using various strategies, methods and techniques of training / education. ON4 Identify patterns and major stages of the global political process. Analyze political events, both at the micro and macro levels; to form an understanding of the importance of citizenship in the political process and in the evaluation of social development processes; demonstrate the interrelation of internal, international political processes in world history; analyze the main problems of the world political process. ON5 To analyze the impact of the colonial policy on the East as a whole, taking into account all the processes that have been and are going on in the modern East; to analyze the formation in the countries of the colonial and dependent East of fundamentally new states and the corresponding new society; To know about the directions and mechanisms of the influence of demographic changes on the processes of socio-economic development, the formation of social and demographic policy. ON6 Analyze domestic, foreign statistics on socio-economic processes and phenomena, identify trends in socio-economic indicators; Interpret the basic provisions of international law governing the organization activities of international judicial institutions; Represent social history as a scientific direction in the system of scientific knowledge and humanitarian education; analyze directions and scientific schools developing in the context of social history. ON7 To analyze the basic laws of the development of European culture, inseparable connection with the laws of the world historical process; To analyze the main ideas of the great thinkers of Western Europe and their role in shaping the consciousness of Western countries; Explain the specifics of a person as an object of natural science and social research; the natural history of mankind and the biosocial characteristics of fossil populations; Define the role of innovation in the history of mankind; ON8 Apply innovative methods of interdisciplinary synthesis in the study of the genesis of political thought, social history, anthropology, international economic processes, spiritual culture; To determine the specifics of historical reality on the basis of source study methods. Use scientific methods, techniques of historical science. Implement research projects to create new knowledge or practical applications in current areas of history. ON9 Master the methods of expert assessments, comparisons; scientific analysis and abstraction, identifying the essential meanings of events occurring in the global economy; interpret the most important international legal concepts, evaluate their specific historical and general theoretical content to form the basis of legal thinking, culture, sustainable motivation to succeed in the professional sphere. ON10 To have a holistic interdisciplinary understanding of the history of the relationship between man and society, the evolution of spiritual culture, science and communications. To determine the problematics of the most important branches of public international law through the prism of knowledge of the principles and norms governing the procedure for the establishment of intergovernmental bodies and organizations. To use for their professional purposes the data of related sciences: sociology, economics, psychology, international law; ON11 Apply historical consciousness, scientific conscientiousness, correct attitude to the works and ideas of predecessors, creative initiative, moral views and beliefs, understanding of the social role and significance of historical science in research work. Possess positive communication skills based on the principles of patriotism, citizenship and tolerance; understanding of multiculturalism as a condition for the existence of a modern global society. Express your point of view on socio-economic and educational issues; ON12 Build professional relationships with colleagues and management; Take into account the socio-cultural differences between people in their professional activities. Develop a culture of independent thinking, debate, public speaking; have skills in oral and written translation of English text. Acquire speaking skills in English. To act rationally and independently, guided by his conclusions, observations and experience obtained as a result of cognitive and professional activities.

Al Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) offers 134 bachelor degree programs at 16 faculties, which are among the leaders in the national subject ranking in Kazakhstan. Students can join undergraduate programs in a wide range of disciplines, from the sciences (chemistry, geography, mathematics and physics) through to humanities, law, IR, languages, and journalism. Students can also select from several joint double degree programs with the leading universities from around the world.   The university bachelor degree programs train students to be critical thinkers, well-rounded lifelong learners and future leaders in their specialties. Most of the undergraduate programs of KazNU are accredited by accrediting agencies such as ASIIN, FIBAA, AQ, and ACQUIN.

Undergraduate international students usually study for four years at the individual faculties. Undergraduate study at KazNU includes lectures, seminars and laboratory work carried out in university faculties and departments. KazNU has no quotas for international admissions and around 10 percent of applicants are international students and the number increases every year.

The international admission period runs during the summer for the current academic year. International applicants register at the dedicated website, and prospective students must pass foreign language test in advance.   The application process is broadly the same for international and national students, and the university accepts school qualifications from many different countries.

Tuition fees are currently set by the university at a very competitive level. The tuition fees do not include accommodation or board.

All students find themselves in an innovative educational environment and they have access to the specialized libraries and computer facilities including access to
KazNU’s super-computer as well as to the university technopark, business incubator and startup seed capital provided by the university, businesses and other entities in the country. Every year university students can study in the world’s leading universities within the framework of “Academic mobility” program or join international summer schools.

Al-Farabi KazNU offers 268 full master degrees and 140 full PhD wide range programs which help you facilitate your career progression. The University is the main Higher Education University in preparing masters’ and PhD students. During master degree programs students have a chance to take experience in International Summer Schools and Short Intensive Programs. They funded by Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan. PhD degree students must undergo 2 months international traineeship as a part of their studies. All PhD students can have one local and one international supervisor.

All postgraduate programs of KazNU accredited by Accrediting Degree Programs such as, ASIIN, FIBAA, AQA, ACQUIN. KazNU has drawn up double degree agreements with more than 20 universities and maintains partnerships with around 170 universities worldwide. KazNU embrace a wide range of interrelated disciplines and our programmes of study offer you a high degree of flexibility and choice as well as career relevance.  

Al Farabi KazNU actively involves postgraduate students to work on various innovative projects and programs, including projects conducted jointly with international organizations. For example, in summer 2018 Al Farabi KazNU established the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development by signing MoU with 8 th UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon and plans to support research projects related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
