Department of Law and Justice of BUBT is widely regarded as one of the top Law Schools in Bangladesh and is a leading centre for legal research and teaching. Department of Law and Justice at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) is designed to enable our students to nourish and unleash their academic, professional and personal potential. We are passionate about teaching our students well, and about helping them to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of the pivotal position of law in a civilized society. Legal studies comes into contact with almost every area of human life touching upon issues relating to business, economics, politics, environment, human rights, international relations and trade. It is significant that the first academic degrees that developed were all related to law. As a law student, you can learn how to tackle some of the most problematic, often seemingly irresolvable conflicts and issues in modern society and morality. Our brilliant students of the Department of Law and Justice have completed the Bar Council Examination with successive success.
Our Law courses are approved by UGC and Bangladesh Bar Council. We use a range of teaching methods, including interactive teaching, in the small group supervision system that is a key part of our approach to give our students a unique learning experience. Our faculty members include leading academics in national, international, comparative, and transnational legal studies who are capable of developing real and comprehensive responses to the challenges of globalization. We work closely with the education sector for the convergence of legal education and practice, to develop new methodologies in legal education and to grow the legal culture in Bangladesh. We pursue an advanced and comprehensive world-class curriculum in accordance with the needs and requirements of international standards. We offer our students an extensive array of opportunities to immerse themselves in the study of global legal issues through coursework, case study, small group sessions, clinical education experiences, internships, journals, student groups, joint programs, workshops, moot competitions, and international exchanges.

Admission Requirements
At BUBT, LL. M. is a 1 Year program consisting of 3 consecutive semesters. Students who have successfully completed LL.B. (Hons) degree from any recognized University may be admitted in the program. They have to complete 12 courses and a total 36 credits under the program. The program is designed to prepare the students for careers in law to become good lawyers, judges, academics and professionals in multifarious dimensions of law.
Admission requirements for LL.M. program:
Four-years LL.B. Honors Degree from any recognized college or university
GPA of at least 2.50 or 2nd Division in both the SSC and the HSC or equivalent examinations and GPA of at least 2.00 in bachelor program.; or
GPA of at least 2.00 either in the SSC or the HSC examination, but the total GPA in both the examinations combined must be at least 6.00and GPA of at least 2.00 in bachelor program; or
'O ' Level with at least 5 subjects and 'A' Level with at least 2 subjects and in these two examinations out of these at least in 7 (seven) subject’s students must have passed 4 (four) subjects with at least B grade or GPA of 4.00 and in 3 (three) subjects with in at least C grade or GPA of 3.5.
North American High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate, or its equivalent.
In the case of sons/daughters of Freedom Fighters, a total GPA of at least 5.00 in both the SSC and the HSC Examinations. But the official proof of the Father /Mother as a Freedom Fighter must be submitted.
Admission Procedure for LL.M. Program:
Admission form and prospectus are available in the admission office/ reception desk. After verification of the necessary documents, the applicants are allowed to deposit the admission fees and sign on the application form to complete the admission process.
Two passport size color photographs (studio lab print with white background for ID card purpose).
Photocopies of SSC/O-Level, HSC/A-Level, Bachelor degree or equivalent examinations certificates and mark sheets/transcripts and birth certificate/ national ID card (one copy each).
Original certificate, mark sheets/transcripts and birth certificate /national ID card must be produced for verification by the officer of BUBT in charge of admission.
