BMC’s Dentistry Program was established in 2007 and is fully committed to provide students with the best educational services both theoretical and clinical.  

The study in dentistry program is seven years in total, designed as follows; one foundation year, five successive years and a final internship year. 

The seven-year program breaks down to: 

Preparatory year:

  • A foundation year to path the way into medical education. 
  • Two years of medical and practical courses: Basic medical courses that lay the ground for a strong base in the practice of medicine as well as practical courses that enable the acquiring of several hand skills.
  • One year of dental pre-clinical courses: A year of simulation training on dental simulators to start the practice of dentistry with ease and confidence. 
  • Two years of in-depth dental clinical courses: Two intensive years of clinical practice and daily patient treatment, ending with a final graduation project. 
  • One year internship: A final year of clinical rotations and field experience to develop dental practitioners who are able to utilize the basic principles of human biology and behavior in conjunction with their technical skills in diagnosing, treating and preventing oral diseases.

Admission Requirements

Requirements for Saudi High School Applicant

  • Foundation Year Medicine Program
    • Completion of 12th Grade with Science subjects.
    • Minimum 95% overall grade
  • Foundation Year Other Programs
    • Completion of 12th Grade with Science subjects
  • Qudrat and Tahsili are required

Requirements for International High School Applicants

  • 1. British Curriculum
    • Foundation Year Medicine Program
      • Completion of 12th Grade (High School or equivalent)
      • O Level: Minimum 5 subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and one additional subject
      • AS and A2 or A Level: Two subjects – Biology and Chemistry or Physics
      • Minimum 90% overall grade (as per the BMC Grade Equivalency Policy)
    • Foundation Year Other Programs
      • Completion of 12th Grade (High School or equivalent)

Important Notes

  • 1. For applicants not admitted to the Foundation Year Medicine Program:
    • Students who achieve a minimum GPA of 4.5 out of 5.0 during their first year (Foundation Year) at BMC are eligible to transfer to the Medicine program or any other program, subject to committee approval.
  • 2. For applicants admitted to the Foundation Year Medicine Program:
    • If a student fails the Foundation Year Medicine, they will not be eligible to enter the Medicine program and will be required to select an alternative academic program.
