The medicine program at Batterjee Medical College was established in 2005. The program has witnessed the graduation of nearly a thousand doctors. Since its inception, the Medicine program has developed its medical curriculum in cooperation with Maastricht University in the Netherlands by developing its objectives and methodology and building effective evaluation methods.

Besides, the Medicine Program is concerned with developing distinguished services to improve and develop educational outcomes by developing basic medical skills (pre-clinical) to clinical science units. The program is also divided into pre-clinical years (first, second and third years) and clinical years (fifth and sixth years), both of which are taught inside the college premises, in addition to the training year (internship), which is carried out through government and private hospitals. Students are also trained in clinical skills and effective communication gradually according to their study levels in fully prepared training labs in the college to achieve interactive learning, develop knowledge and enhance trust between students and faculty members.

We are proud that the program's graduates are among the pioneers who could pass the local and international fellowship exams with ease.

Admission Requirements

Requirements for Saudi High School Applicant

  • Foundation Year Medicine Program
    • Completion of 12th Grade with Science subjects.
    • Minimum 95% overall grade
  • Foundation Year Other Programs
    • Completion of 12th Grade with Science subjects
  • Qudrat and Tahsili are required

Requirements for International High School Applicants

  • 1. British Curriculum
    • Foundation Year Medicine Program
      • Completion of 12th Grade (High School or equivalent)
      • O Level: Minimum 5 subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and one additional subject
      • AS and A2 or A Level: Two subjects – Biology and Chemistry or Physics
      • Minimum 90% overall grade (as per the BMC Grade Equivalency Policy)
    • Foundation Year Other Programs
      • Completion of 12th Grade (High School or equivalent)
      • O Level: Minimum 5 subjects, including Biology, Chemistry or Physics, English, and one additional subject
      • AS and A2 / A Level: Two subjects – Biology and Chemistry or Physics

Important Notes

  • 1. For applicants not admitted to the Foundation Year Medicine Program:
    • Students who achieve a minimum GPA of 4.5 out of 5.0 during their first year (Foundation Year) at BMC are eligible to transfer to the Medicine program or any other program, subject to committee approval.
  • 2. For applicants admitted to the Foundation Year Medicine Program:
    • If a student fails the Foundation Year Medicine, they will not be eligible to enter the Medicine program and will be required to select an alternative academic program.
