Offering a range of fast-track dual degree programs in hospitality, global business management, and culinary arts, BHMS partners with renowned universities such as Robert Gordon University for all BA programs and the MSc, and York St. John University for the MBA. Available programs

Business & Hotel Management School offers undergraduate programmes in three main specialisations: Hospitality Management; Business Management; Culinary Arts

 
All undergraduate degrees are offered jointly with Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Undegraduate students will undertake three paid internships in Switzerland for all BA degree programmes.

Through the internship, students recover almost 30 percent of their annual tuition.

The usual undergraduate entry requirements at BHMS are:

  • Secondary School, A level or GCSE
  •   ILETS 5.0 or duolingo or equivalent
  • 17 years of age

 
The average tuition fees for international students at undergraduate level at BHMS is CHF25,000 per year.

Funding and scholarships are only available for Swiss students.

International students can apply for undergraduate programmes directly through BHMS’s website or through a local agent in their home country.

Business & Hotel Management School offers postgraduate programmes in three main specialisations: Hospitality Management; Business Management; Culinary Arts

BHMS offers the following postgraduate courses:

All M.Sc. degrees are offered jointly with the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

The MBA degree is offered jointly with York St. John University (MBA specialisations are offered by BHMS).

The usual postgraduate entry requirements at BHMS are as follows:

M.Sc. entry requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • ILETS 6.0 or Duolingo or equivalent


MBA entry requirements

  •          Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  •          ILETS 6.0 or Duolingo or equivalent
  •          Minimum two years of full-time work experience


Graduate Certificate entry requirements:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent
  • ILETS 6.0 or Duolingo or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of full-time work experience


Postgraduate Diploma entry requirements:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent
  • ILETS 5.0 or Duolingo or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of full-time work experience

The average tuition fees for international students at postgraduate level are as follows:

  • CHF27,000 for the M.Sc.
  • CHF30,000 for the MBA
  • CHF26,000 for the PG Diploma
  • CHF15,000 for the Graduate Certificate

 

Special funding and scholarships are only available for Swiss students at postgraduate level.

International students can apply directly through BHMS’s website or through a local agent in their home country.

University information

The  admissions criteria  for prospective students are:


Bachelor’s programmes: 

  • High school Diploma, A Level, GCSE, or Russian and CIS Secondary School Diploma 
  • English language skills at a level of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
  • Minimum 17 years of age with successfully completed minimum 11 years secondary education


Master’s programmes: 

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree, BHMS Postgraduate Diploma, or Graduate Certificate from Robert Gordon University
  • IELTS 6.0 level or equivalent
  • The MBA requires two years of previous work experience in any field and does not require a previous degree in hospitality


Students can apply directly through BHMS’s website or through a representative in their home country.


TUITION FEE AND SCHOLARSHIPS

The average annual tuition for international undergraduate students is CHF 25,000 per year. An overview of tuition and all related fees (accommodation, meals, operating expenses) for each program can be found on the website.  
BHMS offers partial tuition assistance (10-20 percent of tuition reduction) to eligible students based on academic merit, professional experience, and language abilities. Tuition assistance is limited in number and allocated on first come, first serve basis.

Business & Hotel Management School’s campus is situated in the most popular tourist city in Switzerland: Lucerne.

BHMS offers the following faculties, campuses, and facilities:

  • City campus: Student accommodation, student reception, student main restaurant, kitchen lab, meeting rooms, internship and placement office, bookstore, student lounges, religious facilities
  • Baselstrasse 57: Student accommodation, computer lab, B57 Cafe, kitchen lab, student lounge
  • Baselstrasse 53: Student accommodation, student lounge
  • Berntrasse 11: Student accommodation, student lounge
  • Sentipark: Classrooms, academic dean office, academic office, student lounges
  •   St. Karli Quai: classrooms, faculty offices, student lounge

 
The university boasts small classes with a maximum of 20 students in first- and second-year BA degrees, as well as in postgraduate diploma programmes.

Students can enjoy BHMS’s all-inclusive annual fee structure which includes tuition, accommodation, meal plans, health insurance, books, fieldtrips and more.

Student life

97 percent of Business & Hotel Management School’s student population is international with over 100 nationalities represented.

There are a number of extracurricular activities that are popular with BHMS students including:  

  • Field excursions to winemaking and chocolate-making factories

  • Field excursions to five-star hotels and luxury retailors
  • Field excursions to watch-making factories
  • Mountain trips, hiking and skiing
  • Tours at horse farms and wine planting

BHMS offers single studio accommodation both on and off campus but over 90 percent of BHMS students live on campus. BHMS is the only campus in Switzerland that offers cooking facilities in student accommodation.

90 percent of BHMS graduates find a job within six months of graduation.

BHMS offers over 20 “International Career Days” annually where recruiters meet with BHMS ready to graduate and sign contracts with them on the spot, securing them a job immediately upon graduation.

Over 60 percent of graduating students receive jobs through BHMS career days

BHMS has the “BHMS Graduway” which maintains a comprehensive alumni network and platform to connect BHMS graduates and also offer them job opportunities. The network also boasts various geographic and specialisation groups.

The platform’s “Find Mentors’ section links graduates together by connecting them with one another regarding operations, administration, marketing, business development and sales.
