Established in July 18, 1977, General Emilio Aguinaldo College (GEAC) Cavite initially included the College of Nursing and Midwifery among its Division of Health Sciences. With six (6) faculty members and separate leadership for nursing and midwifery, the first graduates of the General Nursing (GN) Curriculum succeeded in 1979. By 1981, two sections of the BSN Curriculum received their diplomas. Leadership for nursing and midwifery merged in 1983. In 1987, management and ownership transferred to Frere (Saint) Benilde Romancon Educational Foundation, leading to changes aligned with Catholic principles. Enrollment surged with the institution renamed De La Salle University-Emilio Aguinaldo College (DLSU-EAC), particularly as the demand for nurses abroad grew in the 1990s. Faculty members pursued graduate studies to enhance their skills.
Renamed DLSU-Aguinaldo and eventually DLSU-Dasmariñas, plans to consolidate health sciences courses led to the establishment of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute (DLSHSI) in 2000. The College of Nursing and School of Midwifery (CNSM) joined the Health Sciences Campus, witnessing shifts in the nursing profession. Although the School of Midwifery closed in 2010, the College of Nursing (CN) maintained its high standards, consistently ranking among top-performing schools in the Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE). With increasing job opportunities, the College aims to develop globally competitive nurses while sustaining excellence in education.
