Then choose the bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at TU Delft.
At Civil Engineering you are trained to understand the world, but also to come up with innovative solutions that improve our living environment and make it more sustainable. For example:
- Developing new ways of sustainable construction, such as self-healing concrete or recycling building materials or entire bridge sections.
- New technologies for coastal protection and flooding, such as 'mobile dikes' or a sustainable sand engine in the sea, so that we can keep our feet dry everywhere in the Netherlands.
- The use of remote sensing technology such as satellite data and sensors, which allows you to remotely monitor subsidence, large structures and dikes and prevent dangerous situations.
- Mapping traffic flows and pedestrian behaviour, so that you can improve traffic flow in city centres and at festivals.
- And of course innovations in large built structures, so that they can withstand extreme natural forces.
All examples of civil engineering! In Civil Engineering you apply your technical knowledge within a large and varied field of work. You can therefore go in many different directions with the training.
