The training in the philosophy department ensures preparing the secondary school teacher both intelectually and pedagogically, during five years. The future project teacher studies theoretical as well as methodological and pedagogical subjects. This is followed by a practical training in secondary schools by teacher trainers there. During their last year, students prapare a final studies project under the supervision of specialized teachers from the college. Their research projects are usually about educational and teaching issues. The objective of the philosophy programme is to train a teacher to possess teaching skills, competences and experiences that will enable them to train students to be able to think philosophically and think correctly. This is through familiarizing them with the various philosophical trends and schools and the current issues exist in the intellectual arena. As for the second level of training, Master degree, it entails two specialities : western philosophy and its teaching approaches where the students study modern western philosophy and didactics and educational sceinces where the students study educational sciences and didactics. By the end, students are required to prepare a thesis as necessary accomplishment of their license. This is to ensure both philosophical and pedagogical training as a preparatory stage for participating in PHD contests.
