Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University's Masters of Science in Physical Therapy was the second established program in Saudi Arabia. In 2000 it was opened for male students and then in 2006 it was opened for female students. It was established to meet the increasing demand for PT in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since its inception. Physical Therapy (PT), also known as physiotherapy, is a dynamic profession with an established theoretical base and widespread clinical applications. It is concerned with the promotion of human health, the prevention of disability and the evaluation and rehabilitation of patients disabled by pain, disease or injury. Physical therapeutic measures are used in the treatment.

Admission requirements

Undergraduate

A BS in Physical Therapy from the Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University or from another university which has been accredited by the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education; Two years of full time clinical experience in a recognized hospital, center or an academic institution; Pass the English test IELTS (5) degree or its equivalent; A recommendation letter from a clinical site in which the applicant has practiced; The Department of Physical Therapy reserves the right to add other conditions or requirements.

The Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies at Imam AbdulRahman bin Faisal University was established in 1430 AH/2009 CE.  Imam AbdulRahman bin Faisal University offers 62 different graduate programs, awarding master and doctoral degrees along with diplomas and fellowships.  The College of Medicine is a pioneer in graduate programs among medical schools in the Kingdom.
