Bachelor of Science in Anesthesia Technology is designed to prepare
skilled professionals who support anesthesiologists in the safe delivery of
anesthesia and perioperative care. It is a four-year degree program consisting
of eight semesters, and graduates are awarded the title of Anesthesia
Technologist.
Anesthesia
technology involves the application of scientific knowledge and technical
skills related to anesthesia equipment, anesthetic drugs, patient monitoring,
airway management, and infection control to ensure patient safety before,
during, and after surgical and diagnostic procedures.
The program
aims to develop competent graduates capable of working effectively in operation
theatres, intensive care units, emergency departments, and pain management
services at secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities. Graduates are trained
to assist in general, regional, and local anesthesia, manage anesthesia
equipment, and respond to perioperative emergencies.
