The gaming and tourism industry is the main backbone that provides for the economic support of Macau. The government-recognized Bachelor of International Tourism Management (BITM) was created in order to train professionals for the gaming and tourism industry. Better trained and highly qualified professional can ably provide services that conform to international standards and increase the competitiveness of the entire industry. The BITM emphasizes both theory and practice and the faculty provides local and overseas internship opportunities to students (e.g. the Walt Disney World, US).For these reasons and more, the bachelor program has earned the TedQual (Tourism Education Quality) certification issued by the UNWTO.
Facing a tough challenge, students are motivated to cultivate their competitiveness, widen career prospects and receive skills training in four academic years. By taking the set-elective subjects like MICE management, Gaming Management, Hotel Management, Cultural Tourism Management, Smart Tourism Management, Service Quality and Retail Management students further refine their skills and gain an added advantage in the workplace.
