Master of Science in Mathematics - study the theory and application of mathematics This degree is offered under the comprehensive examination plan or the thesis plan. This advanced program of study offers students a choice between a thesis and an extended coursework This advanced degree allows students to explore the discipline of mathematics by concentrating in two of four areas: analysis and topology; algebra and combinatory; applied mathematics and dynamical systems; and actuarial and financial mathematics. Through a rigorous course of study, the Master's Degree in Mathematics takes an undergraduate degree in mathematics one step further. Students select two of four concentration areas allowing them to focus on preparation for further study in pure mathematics or to select applied options for career preparation.
