Oxford Brookes’ Mechanical Engineering Design degree covers a wide range of engineering practice. Students will learn key skills and focus on computer-based engineering design. Students will also discover how to turn basic engineering principles into design possibilities. As well as find solutions for industry problems. Through this course, students will take design ideas and turn them into computer models and create their own design solutions for their work portfolio. Students will have access to facilities with industry standard software including: CAD packages; stress and dynamics analysis packages; computational fluid dynamics; engine simulation software; specialised vehicle-performance simulation software. This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer. This course is also accredited by The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
