The MSME program is designed for professionals interested in developing and acquiring knowledge beyond their bachelor degree in order to improve their career prospects. The program is offered under the College of Engineering at PMU. The proposed program is available with thesis or non-thesis options. The thesis option and non-thesis program requires a minimum of 30 credit hours beyond the bachelor’s degree, including 12 credit hours of required courses. Two tracks are available: Thermo-fluids track and Mechanical System track. The instructional objective of the MSME program is to prepare graduate students with advanced knowledge in research and technology in the different areas of Mechanical Engineering to increase the pool of highly qualified engineers and scientists in Saudi Arabia. The M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering curriculum will train the graduate students in critical professional skills such as written and verbal communication, analytical skills, multi-cultural competence and team building with a mindset of social responsibility.

The Saudi industry demands for deep technical expertise in mechanical engineering will continue to grow steadily and rapidly for many years to come. The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) at PMU is aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 by producing highly skilled mechanical engineers who will take part in enriching the national economy by fulfilling critical high tech market needs and by creating economic opportunities for the Saudi entrepreneur, the small and medium Saudi enterprises, as well as the Saudi large corporations. The MSME program is available with thesis and non-thesis options. Each option requires a minimum of 30 credit hours, including 12 credit hours of required courses, which can be completed in two years. The MSME is offered in Two tracks: Thermofluids track and Mechanical Systems track. A Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or Students with Bachelor of Science degrees in closely related disciplines to Mechanical Engineering can apply upon conditions specified by the College of Engineering) from a recognized university is required upon enrolment.
