Computer Science gives a thorough understanding of mathematic, scientific and engineering concept that covers the wide range of computer systems. Students are exposed to course such as data structure, algorithms and operating systems. Other topics also include artificial intelligence, operations research, computer architecture and organization. Potential careers for graduates of the Computer Sciences program include: Application development and programming, Multimedia and Web designing, Network and Web administration, Database development and administration, Systems analysis, System designing, Software engineering, and Graduate study in Computer Sciences and related fields. Through this program, students: Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions; Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline; Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts; Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles; Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline; and Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.

Applicants who have completed their secondary school and seek direct entry to the undergraduate program, and wish to bypass the Preparatory Program, can apply to PMU for freshman admissions. However, they have to provide a PMU recognized proficiency English language test certificate with acceptable scores. After receiving and reviewing the requirements, the admissions office will set an appointment for an interview and the final decision will be communicated through the Admissions Office.
