Doctor of Philosophy in Education Administration
The applicant for the Ph.D. in Education, specializing in Educational Administration, must:
Applicants with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, or certain non-educational qualifications who work in the education field, may also be accepted, provided that:
The bridging courses will not be counted within the program’s academic credit requirements. The student must successfully complete them within the first year of enrollment in the program. It is also possible to register for Advanced Research Methods and Advanced Statistics during this period.
The applicant for the Ph.D. in Education, specializing in Educational Administration, must:
- Hold a Master’s degree in Education from a recognized educational institution, with a cumulative grade of no less than "Very Good" or its equivalent based on Sohar University’s grading scale.
- Submit a research proposal.
- Provide proof of English language proficiency through an IELTS score of Band 4, or an IBT TOEFL score of 30–31, with the certificate not older than two years.
- Pass the interview and competency test.
Applicants with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, or certain non-educational qualifications who work in the education field, may also be accepted, provided that:
- All admission requirements are met except for the major.
- They have a minimum of four years of practical experience.
- They study the following bridging (remedial) courses: Philosophical and Educational Foundations, and Educational Leadership.
The bridging courses will not be counted within the program’s academic credit requirements. The student must successfully complete them within the first year of enrollment in the program. It is also possible to register for Advanced Research Methods and Advanced Statistics during this period.
