Science
and Technology are the best things our society has ever had. The needs and
demands of the rapidly changing modern society drive the development of
technology, and science is the backbone of every technology.
Physics is one of the fundamental science subjects. It plays a pivotal role
in various areas of technological development vis-à-vis the progress of
society. It also contributes to our understanding of other scientific
disciplines. The unique course offering:
The Course follows a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as per the
University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines-Teaching is more
student-centric rather than teacher-centric.
The campus is equipped with advanced experimental and computational labs. The
curriculum is facilitated Software-Based Data Analysis for Physics
experiments.
Develop the ability to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom and
laboratories to specific problems in theoretical and experimental
Physics.
Expose the student to the vast scope of Physics as a theoretical and
experimental science with applications in solving most of the problems in
nature.
Emphasize the discipline of Physics to be the most important branch of
science for pursuing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary higher education
and/or research in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary areas.

Selecting the right scholarship can be a daunting process. With countless options available, students often find themselves overwhelmed and confused. The decision can be especially stressful for those facing financial constraints or pursuing specific academic or career goals.
To help students navigate this challenging process, we recommend the following articles:
Students of B.Sc. Physics can peruse M.Sc., M. Tech., and Ph.D. courses through various national level exams viz. IIT-JAM, JEST, GATE and Central University Common Entrance Test etc. They can also try for GRE examination in Physics for foreign Institutes.
B.Sc. Physics students are taught Physics major and minor subjects in Mathematics, Chemistry, Life Sciences etc.
In the Physics major the subjects like Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Thermal Physics, Mathematical Physics, Solid State Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Electronics, Space Science, Atomic & Molecular Physics, Astro Physics, Nuclear & Particle Physics, Nanoscience and Nanophysics, Biophysics etc. Apart from these courses, they can also have taught Skill based course like Introduction to C programming, Introduction to Python Programming, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Introduction to Mat lab, Solar panel installation techniques, Electrical wiring and DC motors etc.
After completing a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics programme, students can pursue job in both the public and private sector institutes and Industries. In Govt. organisations like DRDO, DAE, BARC, ISRO, IISER, NISER and CSIR Laboratories they are employed as Scientific Assistant, Lab Assistant and Lab Technician.
Graduates in B.Sc. can get jobs through UPSC, State PSC, SSC, CGL, Banks and Indian Railways. Private sector companies like Tata, TCS, CTS, Wipro, Infosys, Deloitte, Honey well, ACC Cement, Reliance and Tech Mahindra also offer lucrative employment opportunities.
The NEP2020 envisages the incorporation of skill based programs. So the 4 year B.Sc. (Honours with Research) in Physics have multiple exit and entry programs. Students with 1st year exit will get Certificate, 2nd year Diploma, 3rd year B.Sc. and 4th year Research curriculum awarding Honours degree to the students.
These students after B.Sc. (Honours with Research) will get admitted to One year M.Sc. by Research program and Integrated Ph.D. programs in Physical Sciences.
