The introduction of the Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy opened a new chapter in the history of the UdL. The course has been adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and is based on the philosophy that education must place particular emphasis on individual student needs and their ability to learn autonomously. The current needs and realities of our society make the discipline of physiotherapy part and parcel of most people’s healthcare experiences. Given the wide range of applications of the discipline, the curriculum of the Degree in Physiotherapy has been designed to enable students to take one of two tracks: Physiotherapy in Geriatrics or Sports Physiotherapy. As both fields are in continuous development, there is great potential for students to broaden their knowledge in either discipline. The Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy runs training activities that promote the acquisition of professional skills, as is the case of the internship, which enable students to appreciate that other specialisations in the social sciences and healthcare are involved in physiotherapy, and thus instil in them the need for interdisciplinary work.
