About Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (ULB)
In 1903, the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (SBS-EM) was founded by Ernest Solvay, a Belgian industrialist and philanthropist.
Home to residents from 150 nationalities, Brussels is one of the world's most diverse cultural cities. Located in the cosmopolitan heart of Belgium and Europe, the institution has always held an international title for world-class education in management schools and economic schools.
Solvay Business School emphasises nurturing and growing internationalisation and their stakeholders – as of now, around 60% of students, 35% of faculty and 50% of administrative staff come from abroad. Learn more from the Dean’s welcome remarks.
As the faculty of Economics of Université libre de Bruxelles, SBS-EM, aims to lead economics and management, addressing economic, business and societal challenges positively. Partly, they rely heavily on quantitative research, resulting in pioneering discoveries as well as educating all individuals to become leaders and entrepreneurs.
Operating within the faculty, Solvay Lifelong Learning (SLL) is the best known and trusted executive education business school in Belgium on a mission to train business leaders and entrepreneurs with the ability to adapt to the ever-changing nature of society and to shape tomorrow’s world. SLL develops continuous education programmes addressing both young professionals as well as experienced managers and entrepreneurs committed to the logic of personal and sustainable development, covering management practices like General Management to more specialised disciplines like Leadership, Digital Transformation, Finance, Innovation, Marketing, and much more. Their portfolio includes Open Enrolment Programmes (including short seminars, executive masters, EMBA, and Advanced Masters) and Company-specific programmes (fully customised for companies).
The institution is proud to have obtained the gold standard of three major international accreditations – also known as the Triple Crown accreditation: AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS.
Solvay Brussels School was also among the successful applicants for funding, according to the results of the call for funding PhD students and postdoctoral researchers published on June 23 – granted by FNRS.
