Run by the Ecole Normale Supérieure within PSL University and co-accredited by the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, our master's degree offers an interdisciplinary education in cognitive science, and is open to all students, whether they have previously studied in the sciences or the humanities.

The Master's program is organized in four semesters. The first semester is an interdisciplinary core curriculum that introduces students to the foundations of cognitive science. The second semester consists of an internship and advanced methods courses. The third semester introduces students to current research topics in cognitive science. Finally, in the fourth semester, students complete a long-term research internship in a laboratory, culminating in the writing of a thesis and an oral presentation of their work.

Our courses cover all areas of cognitive science (cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, computational cognitive science, artificial intelligence, experimental cognitive psychology, psychophysics, philosophy of mind, analytical philosophy, quantitative social science, evolutionary psychology, linguistics, psycholinguistics, etc.) as well as its major applications (education and cognition, behavioral public policy, cognitive engineering, etc.).

Upon graduation, students go on to pursue doctoral studies at academic institutions in France and around the world, or to pursue professional careers in government or the private sector in applied cognitive science.

All courses and exams are conducted in English (but no official English test is required to apply).
