The Civil Engineering programme offers a full-time 4-year undergraduate programme leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (Civil Engineering) degree. The programme is designed to prepare students to become Civil Engineers who are able to plan, design, construct, maintain, improve and manage the physical and natural built environment, including works such as buildings, bridges, roads, canals, dams, sewerage systems and pipelines. Within these programme, students undertake a variety of courses in maths, mechanics, materials, design, geotechnics, hydraulics, surveying and management.

In addition to the lecture, the theoretical aspects are also reinforced with practical through laboratory sessions, field works, industrial training, and final year project. Courses that have been offered are: Civil Engineering Material, Engineering Geology, Applied Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydrology, Highway Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.

Yes, UMS conducts all teaching and learning in English at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
To qualify for admission at UMS, international students must have completed at least twelve years of education and passed a national or international examination recognized for degree program entry. Additionally, students need to provide proof of English proficiency with one of the following: an IELTS score of at least Band 5.0, a TOEFL score of 500 (paper-based), or 42 (TOEFL iBT), and a Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 47. Students who do not possess an IELTS or TOEFL score may enroll in the Progressive English Programme (PEP) at UMS. Admission will be granted on a conditional basis, requiring the student to complete the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) and achieve a minimum score of Band 3.5 to proceed with undergraduate studies.
Currently, UMS offers scholarships exclusively for local students. However, we warmly encourage international students to explore potential scholarships available outside UMS, particularly in their home countries. Additionally, they are welcome to submit a sponsorship letter to the UMS Bursar Department for verification.
