Midwifery is a unique profession, providing a safe, respectful, caring and personalised service to women and their families from conception, antenatal care, labour and into the postpartum period. Our curriculum is based on a philosophy of active student-centered learning, making use of the real-life context of practice. Problem-Based learning is designed to support your development into an autonomous learner. This transfers well into clinical practice, thereby promoting research-based contemporary care. You will develop into a practitioner who is competent and consistently delivers innovative, effective and excellent care. The varied clinical experiences available in Bradford and Airedale will enable you to develop an understanding of the ethnic traditions, values and beliefs in delivering care, which is sensitive and responsive to the needs of all women in a multicultural society.
